In addition to the name on the awning, a separate sign identifies Standard Auto Tire Company as a Firestone Tires dealer at 234 S 11th Street, Lincoln. Lincoln Wall Paper Company occupies 230 S. 11th Street to the left and L.W. Pomerene Plumbing Company occupies at 238 S. 11th Street to the right. A sign in the second floor window over the Standard Auto says: Electra Chapter No. 8, O.E.S which had the address of 236 S 11th Street.
According to Polks City Directory of Lincoln, 1913, Standard Auto Tire Company was owned by Joshua T. Brown and Frank C. Hocking; Louis W. Pomerene owned L.W. Pomerene Company; and at the Lincoln Wall Paper Company, Frank H. Stephenson was President, and Willis Rowecliffe was Secretary and Treasurer. The Electra Chapter No. 8, O.E.S. meet the first Saturday of each month at the Masonic Temple, and Mrs Anna Chatburn was W.M., Mrs. David C. (Sarah L.) Hilton was W.P., Mrs. Alice M. Stanhope was Secretary, and Mrs. Emily Bunting was Treasurer.
