Street view of the five-story brick City National Bank which was located at 1102 O Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. The bank occupies the street level floor of the building and signs in the windows say: "City National Bank, 4% Paid on Saving Accounts" and "City National Bank, United States Depositary." On the upper level of the building printed signs on the windows and on the building identify offices: on the second floor, "Dr. Woodward, Eye, Ear, Dr. Teal"; "Dr. Kate Stoddard, Osteopath"; "Dr. Fred. Webster, Dentist"; on the third floor, "Dr. Hilton, Dr. Hanson"; "Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. District Office"; on the fourth floor, "Field, Ricketts and Ricketts"; on the fifth floor, "W.B. Comstock, Law Offices"; and "Dr. Cook, Eye, Ear, Nose, Throat." Several men walk or stand on the sidewalks. Street lights frame the crosswalks, and a U.S. Mail box stands on the corner. Street car rails run along the brick streets.
According to Polk's City Directory of Lincoln, 1914, the officers of City National Bank were Loyal B. Howey, president; Lee J. Dunn, cashier; and Edward M. Warner, assistant cashier. This office building at North 11th and O Streets was known as the Richards Block and its agent proprietor was Lowe A. Ricketts who, with his attorney partners Allen W. Field and Arnott C. Ricketts occupied office number 405 in the building. The Directory also identified Dr. Erle B. Woodward and Dr. Frederick F. Teal in office 207; Dr. Fred W. Webster in 203; Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 303, Dr. David C. Hilton and Dr. Daisy M. Hanson in 305; Wilber B. Comstock in 507; and Dr. Sheldon E. Cook in 506.
