This photograph shows the Lincoln Hotel, a multi-storied stone building on the southwest corner of 9th and P Streets. Canopies cover the front and side entrances with balconies above. Two men work on one of the front windows. A barber's pole at the left of the front entry marks the Lincoln Hotel Barber Shop at 127 N 9th Street. Behind the hotel at the right is A. Booth and Company at 821 P Street.
According to Hoye's City Directory of Lincoln, 1899, Austin Humphrey was manager of the Lincoln Hotel; E. A. Snyder was proprietor of the Lincoln Hotel Barber Shop; and Edward Vanderpool managed A. Booth and Company, a wholesaler of oysters and fish.
