Black and white photograph of the intersection of 2nd Street and Washington Street, now 84th St., in Papillion, Nebraska after the 1903 flood of the Papio Creek. Photograph looks south showing damage including debris in streets and on sidewalk and a structure in background that was moved from its foundation by flood waters to rest against the bridge. Photograph includes front view of oldest commercial building in Papillion with a man standing in the doorway and wooden barrels on display on the front sidewalk. This building in 2005 houses the business "D-Rocks." Visible are two rows of telephone poles lining Washington St., a corner gaslight, hitching posts, and a muddy street. The buildings on the west side of Washington St. include a bank, restaurant and the Sarpy House hotel (partial sign and cigar advertisement visible on building).
