Color postcard (13.5 cm x 8.5 cm) with a view of Miller Park and shrub and tree lined landscaped lagoon located at 2707 Redick Avenue, Omaha, Nebraska. The lagoon occupies the center and right side of the view with the landscaped edge on the left and far side of the image. The title "Miller Park Lagoon, Omaha, Neb." is in red in the right top corner.
This 78-acre park was purchased from the Parker heirs via a bond issue in 1891. Miller Park is bounded by Redick and Kansas Avenues on the north and south and 24th and 30th Streets on the east and west. The lake, artesian well, fountain and landscaping helped make Miller Park a jewel among the city's parks. The park still has a fine golf course and pavilion. Miller Park is named for Dr. George L. Miller, first president of the Board of Park Commissioners. Source: Wakeley, Arthur. Omaha: The Gate City and Douglas County Nebraska, Chicago: S. J. Clarke Publishing Company, c1917, p. 161.
