This 5-1/2" x 3-3/8" black-and-white photographic postcard shows business along a street in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The first full building at the left houses the Scottsbluff National Bank. While the building next door offers billiards, none of the other businesses can be identified. Most have awnings over their windows. Two women and a child stand in front of the bank, beyond them a woman is pushing a baby carriage. Further down the street men can be seen on the sidewalk and a boy stands in the middle of the street. Several motor cars are parked at the curb and a bicycle lays partly on the sidewalk by the bank. While the sidewalks seem to be made of concrete, the street still appears to be unpaved.
It is most likely that the street pictured is Broadway Street since Scottsbluff has no street named Main. None of the buildings could be identified as ones currently standing. The Alliance Herald (January 12, 1911) reported that the Scottsbluff National Bank building had been constructed in 1910 at a cost of $18,000.
