A three-story brick building with a covered front porch and an addition on the right can be seen from the street in this 9-1/2" x 7-1/2" black and white photograph. A sign above the porch steps reads "Nebraska Children's Home Society". The Society's headquarters building was located at 3549 Fontenelle Boulevard in Omaha. There is a stone retaining wall near the sidewalk that runs along the street. Bushes and trees surround the building.
The Nebraska Children's Home Society was organized in 1893. The original headquarters building (built in 1923) and grounds were made possible by the interest and generosity of the Lions Club and citizens of Omaha, who, through a one-day solicitation in October 1922, secured over $90,000.
