Hayward School was located at 1215 N. 9th Street in Lincoln, Nebraska, 1902-1981. This school was named for Monroe Leland Hayward, a prominent Nebraska City lawyer, farmer and stock raiser. The school was built in 1902 by contractor E.A. Stephens for $16,416.84. At one time, Hayward School had 9 portables or cottages.
