A two-story brick building stands at the corner of two brick streets in this 6-1/2" x 4-1/2" black and white photograph. The building has windows on each floor and a sign over the door that reads "McGrew Machine Co." There is a small shed behind the building and a house in the background. Telephone poles are visible in the foreground. "McGrew Machine Co." is written on the photograph.
The first portion of this building, located at 2124 Y Street, was built in 1918 by contractor Grant Roberts for Earl E. McGrew, president of the McGrew Machine Co. McGrew served as his own contractor for a major addition in 1923. The building today (2012) is called "Turbine Flats" and serves as an incubator for a number of start-up companies.
