This 6-1/2" x 4-1/2" black and white photograph shows the interior of a store located at 546 6th Avenue, Fairmont, Nebraska. Glass display cases, tables, and barrels fill the floor and open shelves line the walls but don't reach the high pressed tin ceiling. Food stuffs occupy the left of the store and most clothing items are to the right; however, there is a table of hats at the left. Three women stand toward the back of the store; two are identified as Mrs. Ethel Horn and Gertrude Carney Peterson.
William Dorrance came to Fairmont in 1872 and married Rena Bell in 1881. Their son Ross married Viola Spahr in November 1909. They operated a general store many years.
