In this 6-3/4" x 4-3/4" black and white photograph, cars are parked on either side of a large room with electric lighting and a wooden floor. American flags hang from a pressed tin ceiling. The four men standing near the cars are: Mr. Drake, bookkeeper for the garage; Earl Christianson; Arthur Rose; and Alva L. Brown.
Brown's garage was owned by Alva Lee Brown, who ran the garage from 1907 to 1948. The building was steam heated and electrically lit. In addition to selling new cars and repairing them, Brown also sold and installed electric fixtures. In 1908, the garage sold Regal & Pope automobiles, Reo cars, Studebakers, Auburns and Glides. Alva Brown later became Justice of the Peace of Fairmont for many years.
