Thirty-nine members of a band pose in front of a wooden building in this 6" x 9" black and white photograph. The band includes both male and female members of all ages. The band members wear uniforms consisting of dark sweaters and pants or skirts, white shirts, dark ties, and hats. All of the band members carry their instruments. There are two drums on the ground in front of them; the larger one has "Squaw Mound Band" printed on it, along with a picture of a tree-covered hill.
The band was organized in the rural Squaw Mound area east of Crawford in 1927 and played at the Nebraska State Fair in Lincoln in 1936. William Schmidt was the director of the band.
