Margaret Boston is wearing a striped dress with high-stand collar and contrasting braid on the bodice and neckline, wearing wire-rimmed glasses and a wide-brimmed black hat with ostrich-feather trim. Harriet Patterson is wearing a striped dress with bias fabric bodice, high-stand collar and a wide-brimmed hat with turned up brim to one side and silk flower trim. The unidentified woman is wearing a black satin dress with vertical rows of sewn tucks down the bodice, white, v-shaped bodice insert, lace appliques, high-stand collar with contrasting braid trim, wide, white bow tie and wide-brimmed hat with ribbon trim.

Historical Notes
Margaret and Harriett Patterson were the daughters of Philander C. and Mary Ann Lemon Patterson. Margaret was born September 26, 1870, Rock Bluffs, Nebraska. As a child, she lived with her parents on a farm near Ulysses. She married Harvey L. Boston, August 15, 1899, in David City, Nebraska. They were the parents of two daughters: Floy (Mrs. A.C. Hurlbert) and Edith (Mrs. Anton Proskovec). Margaret and her daughters ran the Boston Studio following the death of Harvey Boston. Margaret died August 9, 1951, and is burried in the David City Cemetery. Harriett Patterson was born July 11, 1868, Rock Bluffs, Nebraska. She worked as a nurse in David City and Seward, Nebraska. Harriett died April 11, 1958, and is buried in the David City Cemetery.
