Deaconess home construction, Immanuel Deaconess Institute
Description
This black and white photograph shows the brick deaconess home under construction on the Immanuel Deaconess Institute Campus in 1921. There are twelve workers posing on the unfinished fourth floor and two more on the ground. A wooden scaffold stands in the middle to facilitate lifting bricks for the construction, and there is a truck parked in front of the center of the building. The name on the truck reads: "John Lof & Sons General Contractors". A typed label on the bottom right corner of the photograph reads: "Deaconess Home, 1921".
