The exterior of South Hall can be seen in this 5-1/4" x 3-1/4" black and white photograph. The multi-story brick building has a large front porch, a light-colored foundation, and many windows. Trees with leaves stand on the lawn around the building.

Historical Notes
Union College South Hall was built in 1890-91. Although intended to be the women's residence hall, it originally housed both male and female English-speaking students, with women on the first and second floors and men on the third and fourth floors. After 1911 it was primarily a women's residence hall until about 1920, when it was converted to a men's residence hall permanently. It was slated for demolition in 1953 when it burned down.
