Historical Notes
This school building was located at 4508 North 33rd Street. Construction was completed around 1904, replacing the original two-room frame structure that had been built in 1892. The outer wings were added in 1908. The Second Renaissance Revival style building was designed by architect Thomas R. Kimball and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The school was closed in 1981 and converted to apartments in 1984. In 1993, the roof was damaged in a wind storm and tenants moved out. The building was subsequently condemned by the city and torn down in 1995.
