The Omaha Country Club, organized in 1899, was the first country club organized in Nebraska. The first location was in the Benson neighborhood at Military and Maple and included eighty acres. The clubhouse (designed by architect Thomas R. Kimball) was razed to make way for residential development and the Omaha Country Club moved west to 69th & Country Club Road.
