Color postcard (14 x 9 cm.) with an exterior view of the Good Shepherd Convent at 653 South 40th Street in Omaha, Nebraska. The convent is on the top of a hill behind a long wall with a gate, and there is a dirt road running along the outside of that wall that takes up much of the foreground of the image.
This convent was built in 1900 and located at 40th & Jackson Streets. The Sisters of the Good Shepherd, whose order was founded in France in 1641, ministered to at-risk women and girls. Source: Omaha Public Library Omaha History Clipping File- Churches-Roman Catholic-Convents.
