Architect Thomas R. Kimball designed these two identical warehouse buildings in 1905 for Catherine B. Nash, who leased them to M. E. Smith. At the time, M. E. Smith was the largest wholesale dry goods distribution firm in Omaha. The northern most building was razed to construct the Central Park Mall in downtown Omaha, Nebraska, and in 1989 the remaining building was renovated into residential apartment units known as "The Greenhouse."
