Color postcard (13 1/2 x 8 1/2 cm) with a view of the Woodmen of the World Building, located on the southeast corner 14th & Farnam Streets, Omaha, Nebraska. An automobile and pedestrians are shown on the street in front of the building.
The Woodmen of the World Building was an 18 story structure; the exterior had a pink granite base under white terracotta and red brick. Built in 1911, it was designed by Chicago architects Holabird and Roche, with local architects George Fisher and Harry Lawrie supervising the construction. It cost 1.5 million dollars when completed and was the tallest building between Chicago and the Pacific Coast. The building was razed in 1978. Source: Spencer, Jeffrey.
