Omaha was the fourth city in which Orpheum Circuit Theatre vaudeville was presented, the first performance given on December 4, 1898 in this building. In 1918 there was an Advanced Vaudeville matinee every day at 2:15 p.m. and an evening show at 8:15. This building stood until it was demolished and the present Orpheum Theatre was erected in 1927 with the new 16th Street entrance lobby going through the City National Bank building, the tall building seen in this image.
