The colorized drawing on this 5-3/8" x 3-1/2" postcard shows Normal Hall, the main building on the campus of the Nebraska State Normal School in Peru. The three-story building has a daylight basement and a cupola. Figures are drawn in standing on the lawn between the trees or climbing the stairs to the front door.
Completed in 1872, Normal Hall was the first building on the campus of the State Normal School built with state funds. North and south wings were later added to the building. The 1921 biennial report submitted by the president described the building as "practically useless in its present condition." The building was finally torn down in 1928 to make way for the new Science Building.
