Historical Notes
This fire-proof building provided living rooms for the Sheriff and his family, a cell room for men prisoners on the first floor, and one for women on the second floor. The cells each held a cot, toilet and lavatory; bathing facilities were provided on each floor. The jail had electricity and a furnace. During the 1916-1918 biennium, the jail housed 22 men and 2 women, and held no inmates on December 1, 1918.
