This 8" x 10" photograph shows the 247 East Eleventh Street dwelling of Daniel and Sadie Buck in Fremont, Nebraska. Sadie is seated on the front step holding their daughter Beulah. The fairly simple story and a half frame home is adorned with an ornate gable end bracket which features scroll sawn stars, fans and a rectangular grid. Queen Anne style details include the patterned shingles on the roof of the bay window and the decorative relief on the twin brick chimneys. The square attic window with a larger pane of glass surrounded by smaller ones is also a Queen Anne element. The structure rests on an exposed brick foundation and the home's paint scheme is at least two toned. Wooden steps lead up to the front door which has a transom window above it. The doorway is fitted with a screen door. A sturdy shade tree is also nearby. A wooden privy is visible behind the primitive slat fence located at the back of the house. Flowers are growing near the fence, but the remainder of the yard is somewhat bare.
