This 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" black and white photograph shows a two-story building. The first floor of the building has large windows with "Annex Cafe" painted on them and an awning running the length of the building above them. The second story of the building has smaller windows and a sign sticking out from the wall. Two other, slightly taller, buildings stand next to the cafe. There is a sidewalk in front of the building and another one across the street. Street car tracks run down the center of the road. "Annex Cafe" is written on the photograph.
The Annex Cafe was located at 138 N. 11th Street in Lincoln, Nebraska, across 11th Street from the Capital Hotel. David H. Harris operated the cafe. A 1929 advertisement noted that the restaurant was "Extremely Clean." Eventually the Commonwealth Saving Bank occupied the site, and was succeeded by the Grand Theater.
