This photograph shows John Norman Bruer (1858-1946), James Riley a.k.a. Doc Middleton (1851-1913), and Truman P. Moody (died 1929). "Doc" Middleton was a well-known outlaw in his early years. He was backed in a saloon venture in Ardmore, South Dakota, in the early 1900s by Bruer and Moody.
