A 3"x5" acetate negative, photograph of Bill Parks, David City, Nebraska, and an unknown man racing trotter horses at the Butler County fairgrounds. The two men wearing bib overalls, long-sleeve shirts and hats are riding in carts behind sprinting trotter horses on a dirt track with wood rail surround, grass-covered space in the middle, trees, electrical and telephone poles and lines on the perimeter.

Historical Notes
William Parks was born in North Carolina, October 26, 1883. According to the 1930 census he was working as an electrician in David City, Nebraska. He became a trainer of trotting horses for Hank Smith in David City and lived at the Butler County Fairgrounds. He died April 17, 1958, and is buried in the David City cemetery.
