Historical Notes
Marjorie Culbertson Bell was the daughter of Samuel J. and Hannah Gertrude Culbertson Bell. She was born and raised in David City but moved with her parents to Lincoln, Nebraska, before 1920. She is pictured with her maternal grandfather, Griffith J. Culbertson. Griffith was born in Ohio in 1874. He and his wife, Lydia, moved to Illinois where he worked as a schoolteacher before moving to Lincoln, at about the same time as Marjorie and her parents. In Lincoln, Griffith worked in real estate with his son-in-law, Samuel J. Bell.
