Historical Notes
Ruth Eloine was born to Charles and Vessie Crosthwaite of David City, Nebraska. She graduated from the local public high school in 1909 and attended Kearney Normal and Wesleyan, graduating with a teaching degree in 1915. She taught Valparaiso, David City, and Lincoln. She married Lloyd Gettys in David City, June 27, 1917.
