Historical Notes
Wedding photo of Ben and Katherine Homan. Benjamin H. Homan was born May 7, 1884, in the Octavia, Nebraska, area. He was the tenth child born to John B. and Mary Markus Homan. Benjaman married Katherine Steiner November 22, 1901. They lived and farmed near Bellwood on the Nicholas Steiner property. They raised nine children: Nicholas, Arthur, Esther, Benjamin, John, Edna, Mary, Delores & George. They eventually moved to David City where Benjamin owned and operated the Homan Appliance store that was located on David City's main business square.
