Historical Notes
George William Morgan was born October 25, 1926, to Marion and Minnie Lang Morgan, of Elmwood, Nebraska. When he was still very young, his family moved to a farm 3 miles west of Garrison, Nebraska. He was drafted in 1944 and joined the Army paratroopers. He served in Japan. In 1946, he came back to David City to work for Sims Electric. He married Dorothy Gall, October 12, 1949. George began working for the U.S. Post Office in 1952 as a substitute clerk and eventually served as the Postmaster in David City. He also managed the American Legion Club in David City for many years.
