Historical Notes
Henry Givens Cox was born November 6, 1879, in Pella, Iowa, to James and Luella Cox. He was a musician and taught music in Omaha, Nebraska. He married Queene Snow of David City, Nebraska, June 22, 1904. They were both accomplished musicians. Henry was an early conductor of the Omaha Symphony. Henry and his wife endowed the Cox-Snow Music Center (a 200-seat recital hall, rehearsal hall & classrooms) at Central College in Pella, Iowa. He died March 1966, in Iowa.
