Historical Notes
Stephen was born in Wilber, Nebraska and attended Creighton University Dental School, graduating in 1909. He opened a dental practice in Brainard, Nebraska, in 1911 and worked there for 56 years. He was a pioneer of early radio and built the second radio in Nebraska. His interest in radio led him to make his own x-ray machine, which he used until the mid 1940s. He was active in many civic organizations and served several terms as mayor in the late 1920s. He died in 1975.
