A 2"x3" acetate negative, 1977 or 1978 copy of a photograph of the interior of Smersh's Drug Store in Brainard, Nebraska, taken in 1916. Owners, Theodore and May Smersh are standing behind the counter, the other people are unidentified. The walls of the store interior are lined with shelves, filled with bottles. Display cases contain a variety of merchandise.

Historical Notes
Theodore Smersh was born December 5, 1862, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He married May Layton in 1888. Theodore and May Smersh are standing behind the counter in the photograph. The store was built in 1893 and became the headquarters for the local medical fraternity. He served as Clerk of the City Council and was a member of the Board of Education. He was an expert musician and could play a great variety of musical instruments.
