Historical Notes
Mildred Sypal was born November 13, 1903, to Joseph and Anna Novacek Sypal. Her parents farmed in Plum Creek Township, Butler County, Nebraska. Mildred was the third of ten children born to Joseph and Anna Sypal. She married Jerold Shonka, November 19, 1923, and they raised five children: Edith, Judy, Theresa, Hal and Richard. Mildred died April 16, 1998, in Henderson, Nevada.
