Historical Notes
Elijah Sanders was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, February 12, 1826, to Abishia and Rachael Wilkins Sanders. He moved to Ulysses, Nebraska, to live with his daughter and son-in-law, Samuel and Winnie Sleight. Samuel Sleight was a livestock dealer. Elijah would have been 78 years old at the time of the photo. Elijah died March 21, 1917, in Nebraska.
