Historical Notes
Harold E. Zeilinger was born in David City, Nebraska, January 29, 1899, to George H. and Rosa Jacobs Zeilinger. He married Helen Becker of Rising City, January 25, 1922, and they raised three children: Robert, Howard and Phyllis. They farmed near Rising City and raised registered milking shorthorn cattle from 1929 until he retired in 1965. He was active in Shorthorn Breed State Association. and 4-H, and he served as director of Lower Platte North Natural Resources District. He also helped organize the Bellwood Watershed District. He was active in Masons and the Methodist Church. Harold died February 6, 1974, and is buried in the David City cemetery.
