This brick and stone five-story building with a tower housed Cotner University in Bethany, Nebraska. Behind the main building, at the left, sit a water tower and a one-and-a-half story house.
According to Hoye's City Directory of Lincoln, 1899, Reverend William P. Aylesworth was Chancellor of Cotner University. Bethany is located along Cotner Boulevard and Holdrege Street. Originally laid out as a separate village by the Disciples of Christ, it was annexed by the city of Lincoln in the late 1920s.
