4 X 6 inch black and white photograph of Everett Sutton, Barr Lake station agent, his wife Clara, and their daughter standing on engine #5 with their dog while the engineer and fireman watch from the engine cab.
Sutton worked for the Burlington Railroad from 1886 to 1935 in a number of locations in Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado. His son, Everett (or Everette) Samson Sutton, Jr. was born along the Burlington line in Naponee, Nebraska, in 1893 and worked for the railroad for over 50 years, including a stint as station agent in Benkelman, Nebraska, starting in 1953. This photograph is part of Sutton Junior's collection and may have been taken by him.
